2008 NFL Mock Draft - Updated
4/1/08
Team |
Pos - Name - Measurables - School
| 1 | Miami Dolphins
DT - Glen Dorsey 6-2, 299 - LSU This big man is one of the most dominating players in college football and will add some youth to an aging Dolphins defense. You have already seen big changes in the Miami roster this offseason, but the addition of Dorsey to the roster will be the biggest. |
| 2 | St. Louis Rams
DE - Chris Long, 6-4, 284 The Rams have had an above-average offense for quiet some time, but just an average, at best, defense for the past few years. Long will help them turn things around eventually, as he is a high-motor player who opposing teams will have to account for. |
| 3 | Atlanta Falcons
QB - Matt Ryan, 6-4, 225 Ryan is seen as the top QB in this class, but we don't see him right now being worthy of the top pick. That could change come draft day; heck, the Niners took Alex Smith #1 overall, right? The Falcons need a signal-caller of the future and Ryan fits that mold. |
| 4 | Oakland Raiders |
RB - *Darren McFadden, 6-1, 210 The Raiders have had multiple RBs in their backfield the past few seasons, but none they can depend on. McFadden is clearly the best RB in this year's draft, especially after a great showing at the combine, and Al Davis is sure to nab him if he is available. Look for McFadden to split carries in his rookie season, but still have exceptional value behind an improving Raiders offensive line. |
| 5 | Kansas City Chiefs
OT - Jake Long, 6-6, 320 This may be the lock pick of the first round. The Chiefs have lost a TON of talent from their offensive line over the past couple years; Enduring the retirements of, future Hall of Famers, Willie Roaf and Will Shields. Look for them to snap up Long, who solidified his status as the best tackle at the combine. |
