NEW: NFL Trade Value Chart

Don't Forget to stop back after the draft for the Big HG Draft Wrap-Up!

1.)

Houston

*Mario Williams - DE - North Carolina State

The Texans took the suspense out of everything by signing Mario Williams to a contract the night before the draft. Did Bush price himself too high or did the recent bad news about Bush and his family affect the Texans decion? We may never know. What we do know is that the Texans have a great defensive player on their hands now. Williams will anchor the Texans defense for years to come.

2.)

New Orleans

D'Brickashaw Ferguson - OT - Virginia

With Mario Williams going to the Texans at No. 1, the Saints will be tempted to either take Reggie Bush or trade out of this spot. We think if they don't trade out of the pick, they still go with a left tackel like Ferguson who could be a fixture on their offensive line for years to come.

3.)

Tennessee

Matt Leinart - QB - Southern Cal

We are not buying all the Vince Young talk in Tennessee. This is the pick that makes the most sense for the Titans. Leinart is the best QB in the draft and he falls right into the Titans lap. Leinart can be reunited with his former college offensive coordinator, Norm Chow, so his learning curve will not be as big as other QB entering the draft. Don't look for him to make a significant fantasy contribution in 2006, but he is sure to become an impact fantasy player for years to come.

4.)

New York Jets

*Reggie Bush - RB - Southern Cal

How fast things can change. Bush was the consensus #1 pick less than a few hours ago. The Jets have to take Bush right here as he will be the eventual replacement for Curtis Martin. Look for Bush to split time in the Jets backfield but to also lineup in other areas of the offense.

5.)

Green Bay

A.J. Hawk - LB - Ohio State

This pick is a lock since the Packers have wrapped up Aaron Kapman to a long-term deal and released Na'il Diggs. A.J. Hawk is a 'can't miss' type of guy. He is an intense player who has a flawless character and is a strong leader. All of these components, along with his good showing at the combine and the Ohio State pro day, should put him in the Packers starting lineup on opening day in 2006.

6.)

San Francisco

*Vernon Davis - TE - Maryland

Davis stock has climbed maybe more than any other player since the combine. The Niners offense is void of playmakers and they need to do a better job of surrounding Alex Smith with some weapons. Sure, Eric Johnson will be back from injury this season, but passing on a talent like Davis will be very hard to do. Look for Davis to make a fantasy impact in his rookie season with the Niners.

7.)

Oakland

*Vince Young - QB - Texas

The Raiders could make a pick like Haloti Ngata or Michael Huff at this point but that wouldn't be Al Davis' style. Yes, the Raiders have signed Aaron Brooks and have Andrew Walters as a project, but we think Davis will take the gamble and select Young and make him the future face of the Raiders. Don't plan on Young seeing the field in 2006, but he could be a fantasy contributor in 2007 and beyond.

8.)

Buffalo

Brodrick Bunkley - DT - Florida St.

Bunkley's stock has been soaring and may be a better fit than Haloti Ngata in the Bills 4-3 defense. He could be a great impact player as a one-gap defensive tackle in NFL. We're a little bit concerned about his injury history, but his name keeps moving up draft boards around the league.

9.)

Detroit

*Michael Huff - SS Texas

Huff could possibly be picked a few spots higher than this, but if he slips this far the Lions should thank their lucky stars. Apart from Huff being an amazing physical talent, he also has an impeccable character, which the Lions lockeroom could use. Look for Huff to be a cornerstone of the Lions defense for years to come.

10.)

Arizona

Jay Cutler - QB - Vanderbilt

The Cardinals have very talented receivers, but need a QB of the future who will be able to throw them the ball. Kurt Warner has one or two productive years left in his career so the time is right for the Cards to bring in a young prospect that could be mentored by Warner. The only time Culter will get playing time in 2006 is when Warner gets injured, so don't plan on him making a significant fantasy impact this season. You will want to pick him up in a keeper league, since his fantasy potential will be high in 2007 because of the Cardinals stable of receivers.

11.)

St. Louis

Jimmy Williams - S/CB - Virginia Tech

The Rams need help in their secondary and Williams could be the first step to the road to recovery. Williams stock has dropped in some people's eyes, but we don't know how the Rams could pass up a corner who stands 6' 2" and run a 4.4 forty yard dash. Some may question this pick, but we think it's a solid pick for the Rams that could pay dividends sooner rather than later.

12.)

Cleveland

*Haloti Ngata - DT - Oregon

The Browns luck out as Ngata fall right into their laps. Ngata can start out playing DE in the 3-4 defense as he learn the ropes from Ted Washington. With Roye, Washington and Ngata on the front line, the Browns greatly imp
