Discuss the Browns Team Needs in the Browns Forum

Offense
LT -The offensive line played much better than in recent years, but they still are hurting from a lack of depth. Last year's starter, L.J. Shelton, is a free agent and the Browns need to re-sign him. They won't overpay for him because, frankly, he's only average at best. If he leaves and the Browns don't sign a free agent, then left tackle becomes the Browns top need in the draft.

QB - Last year's rookie, Charlie Frye, showed some great potential. However, right now there are still more questions with Frye than answers. There are concerns about his arm strength and he is working with a strength coach to increase his arm strength. Frye is still learning the game and he's being given a grace period to learn, but the Browns shouldn't put all their eggs in one basket yet.

WR - Braylon Edwards probably won't be ready to start the season and Antonio Bryant is a free agent. If they resign Bryant it won't be for a ton of cash. Bryant dropped several key passes last year that cost the Browns a game or two. If they do sign Bryant and Edwards is a quick heal, then the Browns will be fielding a very intriguing receiving corps with the expected return of TE Winslow.

Defense
LB - Andra Davis has played great and Chaun Thompson had his best year, but the Browns really need to address this position. Matt Stewart and Ben Taylor really hurt this unit. Look for the Browns to draft or sign both an inside LB and an outside LB and let Taylor walk and Stewart will not be starting.

DT - Jason Fisk looked more like a very fat Carlton Fisk playing on the line! The Browns can fill this hole in a number of ways and we see them signing a nose tackle in free agency and possibly taking a DT with a lower round draft pick.

P - Kyle Richardson almost lost his job midway through last year because of a case of the shanks. The Browns punt quite a bit so a booming punter is a must for them. He is a unrestricted free agent and most likely will not be resigned.
